Olin Lathrop holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has worked at Hewlett Packard, where he designed analog circuits for test and measurement equipment, at Raster Technologies, where he designed high-end 3-D display controllers, and at Apollo Computer, where he helped to architect the advanced graphics subsystem of the DN10000VS. In 1988 Olin cofounded Cognivision to commercialize data visualization software. The company, now called Embed, Inc., specializes in embedded systems consulting. Olin serves as the chief technical officer.
